The Band

We had a friend who had a cat.

Timmy was a bit unpredictable and once stubbornly hooked its teeth into the band-leader’s finger.

It’s in the nature of hooks and unpredictability that music comes to life and so, with this poor excuse for a name, we decided to call ourselves wiLD taBBY. There is no suggestiveness intended - if we’d wanted to do that we might have gone for something like Wet Legs.

Perhaps we should have considered something more rock-&-roll sounding like “Fang” or “Badfinger” (already taken) or even “Timmy The Teeth” but these would suggest louder, more aggressive music, whereas we believe our sound is more melodic and creative - maybe a mixture of Pop, Hip-Hop, Folk and Alternative Rock? Who knows.

If someone out there is able to sum up our music more accurately, and find some convincing comparisons to any similar artists, we will send you a free signed cd of this first album release. It will certainly help with our marketing.

Earliest influences include Dylan, The Byrds, Leonard Cohen, Japan, Sade, Talk Talk, Tears for Fears, Simple Minds, The Cranberries, and Hurts. More recently its The Weeknd, Mustii, Billie Eilish, RAYE, Davido, Marracash and many many others. Ones to watch - Pistol Daisies, M Huncho, and Inhaler.

Our favourite song from all of 2024 was “Between Two Points (with Romany Gilmour)” by David Gilmour.

There could be a Playlist on the horizon.

The Album

… and why “Hot Cars & Broken Hearts” when “Blood on the Carpet” by Timmy the Teeth could have rocked the world?

Perhaps that should be the title of our next song.

In the meanwhile we needed an album title that reflected the music and the mood. Well, when you’re creating a song you generally sing just about anything that comes into your head, and this is the magic of song-writing.

So the title named itself and gazumped our planned title “Feels Like Fire”.

“It’s still a journey whichever way we go”

The Support Team

Krissy wife, best friend, inspiration and endless support

Freya who provided encouragement and belief

Kol who had to change his name because surprisingly too many artists called themselves Kol

… and Paddy (who prefers heavy rock or anything else - perhaps this album will finally change his mind!)

Thank you everyone – this would (probably) not exist without you all.

This image was always intended to be our album cover and it was - for the manufactured CDs - but unfortunately the online distributors claimed that the image didn’t meet their quality standards, so all the streaming platforms are showing an alternative album cover. This can be seen by clicking on this website’s MUSIC tab. Confusing, we know, but nothing can be done because both versions are out there now. The songs are the same though, so take your pick.
